I complain about my cell phone. It's made to do so many more things than make phone calls, it's no longer easy to use as a simple phone. Speaking of smartphones and handhelds, the April issue of Fast Company predicts big things in the future for smart media in kids' classrooms — handhelds with games for learning, like "First Words" a pre-K app for the iPhone, "KidCalc" for kids ages 2 to 8 that teaches math, counting, sorting, and number tracing. Even the XO laptop designed for second and third grade classroom use. And to think I can't set the time on my sports watch! |
